Wedding Outfit - Mother Of The Groom

In an earlier post I mentioned I was working on some wedding outfits...well, here are some pictures of one of the dresses. It's for The Mother Of The Groom.

I didn't choose the fabric or the style - the client did this, I merely made the patterns and sewed it. I am really pleased with how it came out.
The fabric is beautiful; it is a stiff chiffon with a lovely embroidered flower design throughout and gold small sequins attached. The lining is a basic silk satin in yellow.
One side of the fabric had a lovely embroidered scalloped edge and I managed to cut the pattern to incorporate the scalloped hem on the dress.

I made the shawl (partly shown in image number 4) out of the chiffon but without the lining because this outfit is for a wedding in Mauritius, so it will be fairly hot.
On the Etsy front, remember I set a little goal of making 5 more items to take my inventory to 20 by the 20th? well I have made 3 so far with 1 sitting on my machine to be sewn and I am hoping to cut out the last one when I finish posting this.
Just a random thing, yesterday and today it snowed in London. I wonder if we will have a white Christmas? We are due for 4" of snow tonight and if it settles, I will share some pictures with you.

Have a lovely evening.

Work In Progress

I find that most of the time I work on a few different things at the same time.

Right now, I have been commissioned to do some sewing for 2 different weddings. One is a dress for the Mother Of the Groom for a wedding in Mauritius the end of this month, which I have almost finished. The second is for the Mother Of the Bride (toile made and ready to fit) and the Groom's waistcoat for a wedding the beginning of January. I will post pic's of all when I've done them.

On the Etsy front, I am working on quite a few new pieces ; a basic gathered neck top in red (see pic) with thin ties, an embellished and embroidered dress which I can't wait to finish, and a grey jersey and lace dress. I have found myself crocheting these flower shapes and balls whilst in front of the t.v. I'm not sure what I'll make out of them yet, but be sure I'll post pic's when I do decide!

Have a lovely evening.

Soft metallic versatile skinny cowl

Look what I made with the cream metallic knit fabric I bought on Saturday!!!!

It's a skinny cowl that can be worn in a number of ways to dress up any plain outfit. It is so soft and the metallic yarn knitted through it adds to the luxe factor - certain to glam up your plain wardrobe basics.

Wear it singularly to just hang like a knitted neckpiece.
Loop it twice for more of a casual loose cowl.
Loop it three times and it becomes a snug neckwarmer.

I will be making this same style up in the black and khaki and all will be available in my Etsy shop soon.

have a great evening!
